Hello, I just received an IFA positive (80) for B.Duncani. I have no sweating issues and I wonder if this means it is possibly not active? The test was IGG positive, IGM negative. Thanks

Hey jeep...
With no medical history or other info I can't say, and most others won't be able to either.
Just so you know, sweating isn't the only symptom of Babesia. Here is a list of some others. Do you recognize any of them as related to your health?
Thanks so much! I also have IGG and IGM western blot, and blood culture for Bb. And positive Erlichia IFA.
I will read the info you sent.

jep, I had absolutely no sweats or any other symptoms of babesiosis, but the FISH test found it in my blood.
Why do you think that these positive tests somehow can mean that the diseases are not active? Who is telling you this?
You got these diseases and unbeknownst to you, you passed them on to both of your children. You have never been treated for these tick-borne diseases, so you still have them.
So far, it seems you are positive for lyme, ehrlichia, and babesiosis. And one of your children is also positive for bartonella.
If you are overwhelmed, I can understand that. But, there is no reason to think that the diseases are not active.
Here is a quote from Burrascano for you:
"Babesia infection is becoming more commonly recognized, especially in patients who already have Lyme Disease. It has been published that as many as 66% of Lyme patients show serologic evidence of co-infection with Babesia microti. It has also been reported that Babesia infections can range in severity from mild, subclinical infection, to fulminant, potentially life threatening illness. Subclinical infection is often missed because the symptoms are incorrectly ascribed to Lyme. Babesia infections, even mild ones, may recur even after treatment and cause severe illness." (p. 23)
Please read the above quote carefully.
As you can see, you can have a very mild case of babesiosis. Evidently, that is what I had. But, when my doctor started treating it, look out! It really made me miserable for about a month.
So, really, you have to stop thinking that the diseases are possibly inactive. You are just discovering all of the diseases that the tick bite gave you years ago.
You are going to need treatment for all of these diseases, and your children also. This is typical for anyone with lyme. Many people find that they have 5 diseases and nearly everyone has 3.
I know this is a lot to absorb. We will help you here all we can.

Just FYI, Stephen Buhner recommends some highly effective homeopathics for Babesia.
