I have tested IGenex positive for Lyme in the past, but testing CDC positive would make my life easier for insurance purposes. I was recently on rocephin for a few weeks for a kidney infection and am thinking I might re-test for Lyme and see if the antibiotics provoked an immune response.

Any tips on how long should I wait after stopping the rocephin before giving the blood sample?

Usually 10-14 days.

Test #188-189 is the Western Blot

Citrus,

A negative test will probably do more harm at this point as far as insurance goes. They have used negative tests against patients and positive tests they still thumb their noses at.

Yes, I know that is not the way it is suppose to work, but that's what they can and have used to support treatment denials.

Just please think twice before giving them more ammunition.

Tincup - I hadn't really considered that option, but you are probably right! Ugh. Oh well, was worth a thought...

Thanks for your help!

I hadn't thought about it either. Take a positive as a positive! (I promise to pay closer attention next time!)
