My doc used Bactrim DS (800/160) to treat me for babesiosis. But I took it twice per day. So, you are taking twice as much as I took per day.
I got rid of babs by taking the bactrim and artimesinin. This was over 11 years ago, praise God. And, I am still symptom free!

I took Bactrim for a very long time and it was fine
also treated Bart
but Rifampin/Azithromycin/Minocycline(or doxy, I guess) have been said to be really good against Bart - it takes a long time to give up or even let off enough you can feel it, but it did seem to have worked for me

I took Bactrim for months and I think it helped. But then I developed an allergy to it. If you get any kind of rash while on it, stop. Bactrim is notorious for rashes.

Doshey, You are on a higher dose than Bactrim than normally prescribed by LLMDS, but that is bc out doctor finds more success with this higher dose.

I also haven't had any Bactrim related problems that I'm aware of, Doshey.

Harmony - just wondering how long it usually takes to see some improvement from Bart on Rifampin/Zithromax. Years, or more like months? I know everybody is different, just trying to get an idea of how long I should take it. I took Rifampin for about 6 months and added Zithromax for a couple of months but am sure I didn't take it long enough as I still have symptoms.
