Anyone else homozygous for MTRR? ( I am specifically MTRR A664A). From what I am reading, it complicates things --

so I would welcome advice from anyone who has already figured this out. thanks!

I think that link describes pretty well how complicated this is -- over methylating as bad as under methylating.

I am hetero for 3 MTRR's. According to my notes this may tend to deplete my B12. I'm also homozygous for MTHFR and have the dreaded CBS +/+. I barely understand any of this, but it does seem like this is one of the factors explaining why I can't get well.

I am just tunneling along, working on this piece by piece as well as I can. I think it is part of my puzzle.

Hey WP,

I am homozygous for the MTRR mutation also. Aren't we lucky?

I take 15 mg (milligrams, not a typo) of methylcobalamin B12 daily. One tablet under the tongue every morning.

I had to work up to the 15mg.

So far have not noticed an impact in feeling better.

Regards,
Greta

Thanks Greta! From what I'm reading, it seems better to start the B12 before the methylfolate.

So are you just taking B12?

Right now I'm taking a multiproduct with both methyl B12 and the folate. But I'm thinking I need to stop that and just do the B12 for a while....
