I would like to know if u would take cipro for Bart?? I tried raphmpin and bacterium and it just caused terrible herx.
I'm scared to take it because of the possibility of permanent damage. Did anyone here take it and was fine? Should I speak to my LLMD and ask for a different antibiotic?

Personally, I would not. But I say that because it's already damaged me.
Not from bart treatment, but from many years ago with UTI's.

Bactrim jacked me up...but ive done diflucan ..i think it has to do with magnesium but ask judie ...

- Andrographis seemed to really help what I had determined might have been bartonella issues, such as to the moon painful feet, etc.
I took the top dose for 14 months. I did not have money at the time for any other combination which is always best, of course. Still, do consider this as one possible piece of the puzzle.

Magnesium did NOTHING for me. I mega dosed before and during.
It's like taking magnesium to offset chemotherapy. Ridiculous!
Lost 1/2 my hair and couldn't walk for quite awhile, tendinitis in several limbs (even years AFTER discontinuing the drugs). Insomnia for months. It goes on and on....
I'm young too but feel 102.
Plus drugs like cipro and levaquin DON'T cure bart, just creates resistance.
Wish I heeded all the warnings before I took it. BIG regret that no one wants.

I also loaded magnesium and got floxed, tendinitis in both my Achilles still there and it's been almost a year. It did clear some of the bart psych and cognitive issues, but I don't think I would take it again.
Bactrim was rough for me at first, I had about a month of heavy herxing and then it was fine, stayed on it a year. I just restarted it and had similar herxing, but it lasted less than a week this time.
Bactrim and rifampin have both been helpful for me, but I am still treating.
You might have to start meds at much smaller dosing than normal and work up. If your herxes are intolerable you may also make sure you are doing what you can to support the body's detox processes. Lots of detoxing while treating parasites gave me the biggest turnaround.
