I haven't started my treatment yet, but have an appt. with a LLMD a week from today.
I have an electric wave feeling in my body that causes muscle tightness and panic attacks.
Is there anything that can help with this for now?
I took xanax and it's the only thing that helps, but I'm almost out.
Please help.

So sorry to hear this. Inositol might help. Here is some info below that Harmony posted for various forms of anxiety. Hang on, hopefully more people will see this and post.
Anxiety is one of my harder symptoms. I am just starting treatment and just getting my feet wet in this world of lyme, so I'm not much help, but know you are not alone.
I know a week seems like forever when the intensity is so great. Hang in there. Hopefully you have a good LLMD that can help.

If you have been prescribed Xanax and find that it helps you get through this right now, maybe you could contact the prescribing doctor and see if you can get more. Or, cut your pills into smaller pieces?
Be sure to share this anxiety with your LLMD.
I used to have horrible anxiety before I started treatment--off the charts. It is much better now overall. There is hope.

Take a big inhale for 4 seconds. Hold for 7 seconds. Exhale for 8 seconds.
Be mindful to breathe.
This helps relieve stress and anxiety which is core to helping you recover quicker.
Rescue Remedy by Bach, 4 drops in water and sip as needed for anxiety is helpful too.
Hang in there! It will get better. Our son's Lyme is the rear view mirror. It happens!

If you are using fluorescent lights that can make the anxiety worse.

Somethine that can help when things get bad is just good breathing to calm you down. If you have a smart phone there is an app I use called "Breathe+" and it's great. https://dynamicappdesign.com/breathe/ Posted by teragram (Member # 45011) on :
What really helps me is breathing as well.
I like Andrew Weill's 4/7/8 breath. Breathe in four through nose; hold seven (count of); breath out 8 through your mouth, pursing your lips.
I keep doing it over and over until I feel better.
The other thing that helps is being in a natural environment like near a lake, or under the stars, looking up.

L-Theanine is one of the best well known supplements that helps anxiety and relaxes you.
Can't say if it works yet or not, but I am trying it. I would like to up my dose of 200mg to twice that and see what happens!!
Best wishes!

recently discovered how any grains I eat give me anxiety. !! think about fixing your diet if you haven't already. it really did help.
also I take valerian for my anxiety and it seems to help when its not a horrendous case of it. I take like 3-4 pills when I need it .. calms me.
