Does Flagyl or Minocycline cause lasting dizziness? A family member taking these has been having lasting dizziness post antibiotics weeks. It does not seem to want to go away.
Any suggestions on how to flush to stop the dizziness?

YES, they sure can!! Mino is really bad about it. Flagyl can cause permanent damage.
How long was the family member on the flagyl and/or mino?
Be sure they contact their doctor.

Flagyl was 1 pill once a month, mino 3x week for about 5 mo, but not every week. I was worried it was the Flagyl, but think it may be the Mino that is the issue.

We have been in touch with the doc about it.

Yes, once a month shouldn't be a problem. Even three times a week doesn't sound like much...but you never know how someone will react to meds.

Minocycline has a few specific posts here, too. -

Oh boy, yes. I took minocycline two days ago and couldn't walk straight. I was dropping things too. It was scary. I've heard that it can be more tolerable if you ramp up on it slowly. Flagyl never did that to me.

Minocycline was bad for me, Dr. R gave me to take 4 a day. I kept telling him it was too much, couldn't take it. Feeling terrible. He said stop for one day and continue. I did this until I couldn't anymore stopped. Did not know then there are LLMD and good LLMD's This doctor was the worst, no concern for the patient. By the way I weight 100lbs and my current Dr. can't believe I was given this quantity to take. I do believe this has to be ramped up slowly, sorry I new nothing about this then and listened to doctor.

For the mino dizziness, did it go away soon after you stopped the med?

As a follow up we figured out that there was some bowel issues causing the nausea and eyes that were changed by the Lyme. We have reading glasses on order now and did a mass clean out of the bowels. Seem to be tracking better now.

Bid3, what did you do to resolve the nausea? My daughter had a lot of nausea before starting meds, and since starting antibiotics the nausea is worse.
Her LLMD told her to take Zofran as needed, but that just knocked her out.

Garnet10, after a bunch of testing the gastro doc has put him on prevacid for some reflux. There is a lot of things pointing to Gallbladder being aggravated. We have not been taking any specific nausea med, but have moved to very low fat diet to see if that helps.
