I can't seem to shake it. Ear leads to a headache on the temporal side of that ear. It has rotated to the other side, and back. Includes deep lung mucous and wheezing Low grade 100.4 temperature. Dealing with this for a week.
Are there any suggestions for some therapy which doesn't include antibiotics? Trying to fight it off. Made lemon, pepper, honey and ginger in hot water. Anymore ideas? Thanks loads

I'd try some homeopathic Hepar sulph. The homeopathic remedy Lac caninum looks interesting for the back and forth ear aches.
Homeopathic Hepar sulph is also good for the mucous as is Antimonium tarticum.
One could start out with this Hyland remedy but if needed to go stronger one would have to buy the remedies separately at the health food store(Hepar and Ant tart). Lac caninum would have to be ordered on line.
I hope you get over this soon!

Another thing you might try is MucusFix. I had had a really bad sinus infection for over a year with chest tightness and a tight, dry cough and mucous which had taken
up residence in one sinus cavity and MucusFix made a big difference. I also got some relief with Pleurisy Root tincture but MucusFix was the key.

Thank you bluelyme and lookup. That's interesting. I have to look these up, as I'm new to them. But I am grateful there's something you think may work. It seems this is the third year in a row I've gotten this. Antibiotics takes it away, but I feel my immunity should start battling this since it's becoming frequent. Hopefully, that, and a little herbal support, and I will overcome.

You are welcome!
Think of Hepar when there is infection with mucous and fever (side note: it is also the remedy of choice for the worse stage of croup).
I had deep lung mucous that felt like it went bacterial last year and even though I did not have a fever -- the Hepar still worked.
Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Not sure why it posted twice but a double thanks is in order anyway. Tulip, I also appreciate your suggestion of Mucus Fix and pleurisy root. I fell asleep after my last post, and now it's 3:30 and I'm up. Uggg. The pain isn't so bad, but the cough got me. Wishing each of you a better sleep then I'm getting. Grateful for your responses.

Sorry 2roads that you are feeling so poorly.
Could this be an allergy to ragweed or other plant/tree that blooms this time of year?
Your ear canal goes down to your throat. Perhaps gargling with warm salt water could attack an infection that goes up to your ear- if that is what it is. Free and easy to try for a couple of days.
Then something like Sudafed and ibuprofen may help?
Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for saying Tincup. It may start out as an allergy reaction to those things and then turn in to an infection. That's a good point. It seems to be seasonal these last three years. I didn't even think of gargling with warm salt water. I gargled with Benadryl. It sounds soothing. I will do so in the morning out of bed. I've taken Theraflu but will add sudafed to my medicine closet to take this time of year as a prevention . The other suggestions are promising too. Ye, this is rough. As a side note, do you know how Doc J is? Sent him a note awhile ago. Just checking to see all is well.

2 roads said.. "It may start out as an allergy reaction to those things and then turn in to an infection."
Exactly. It took me many years to figure out why I would be sick in bed and get bronchitis every year around Christmas time. For a kid that's awful.
Finally I got locked up in the hospital- not really "locked" just felt like it- during the holidays. Some very kind person sent me flowers. They were set right over by the window near the heater unit that would blow warm air in the room.
Instantly I got stuffed up so bad I could hardly breath. HUH? I never had problems with flowers before. BUT...
In the holiday flowers were several pine branches. BINGO!
Turns out I had an allergy to pine & its pollen! UGH!
Anyhow, that's why I thought to mention an allergy bringing on the illness.
Hope you get some relief soon! And I just contacted Dr. J's office for you (and all of us) to get an update. Will share when I hear back.

You're amazing TC! Hope to hear all good things for a great man. On another note, I opened my window to let some cool and fresh air in last night. Woke up with a sore throat, something i did not have the last few days. So, you are likely correct about he allergy instigator. Now it's deep lung yuck that exhales infection. But, it likely could have been avoided. Knowledge is power. πͺπΌ

"Now it's deep lung yuck that exhales infection. "
THAT is exactly the picture to choose the homeopathic remedy Hepar sulph. I could feel the vapors of infections. Ugh. It worked a treat.
I found a 30c potency needed to be repeated 4-5
times a that day. As it improved I cut back on
dosing.

Hey 2roads...
You are amazing too! Funny one you are. HA!
Got word back on Dr. J from one of his lovely angels. He is doing very well, which is wonderful to hear. Post is in General.
I can't believe he is still going on and on and on... bless his heart.

Oh, and 2roads... it may be helpful to look around- out your windows- for anything blooming right now- or almost done blooming. Or when you leave home check the area around you.
The minute I see the tall stalks of the ragweed racing toward the sun, or the white bubbles on the pine tree branches, I know I am going to be "feeling it" soon.
Hope it clears up soon!

So relieved and happy to hear he is ok. I can't believe he continues to care for the next generation of children without a care for himself. My daughter is now 22, and aged up.
Ye, I agree with observing my surroundings, and the culprit(s). Could be some of several. π Hope your preventatives help you avoid the cruds, so you don't feel it soon.
