In the morning, right after I wake up while still lying in bed, I briefly and suddenly get very hot, have brief, light sweating, then this resolves.
This has happened every morning for years, despite bio-identical hormone replacement (happened whether I was taking it or not).
I had air hunger which completely resolved once I started sustained-release T3.
Babesia and co-infection testing through IgeneX all negatve.
Lyme IgM Western Blot positive.
Anyone else have hot flash/brief sweating first thing in the morning? with just Lyme?

Yes! I do and it's so annoying. It usually happens seconds upon waking. Some days mine is accompanied with shakiness and/or nerve pain which I have normally but mornings seem to be the hardest part of the day which sucks because how you start your day can really determine how it goes. I'm working on the hormones too, progesterone has helped around my menses and I'm also on low dose WP thyroid. None of my hormones are way out of norm though. I've described the feeling I get upon waking like a car starting up as it feels like my electrical system is starting up and once my car has warmed up, lol it subsides. So you are not the only one. Hard to say exactly what causes this. Definitely coincides with the Lyme though because mine is worse around my monthly as are my other symptoms.

Also I don't have any other symptoms of babesia and have tested negative but I am positive for Bart. So, sweats aren't always babesia. This symptom has been for a little over a year so it's not something I've experienced in the past, just a new one that's accompanied this recent go round as I was at about 80% for the seven years prior and felt pretty good most of the time

I also take a small dose of levothyroxine (5mg) and will re evaluate at my next appt after labs. My T4 not converting to T3. I'm not familiar with the sustained release T3. Can you give me any info? Thanks!

amberlin96, thank you so much for posting! It is a relief to hear someone else has similar symptoms.
This morning I woke up with a strange pain in my right forearm--felt like nerve pain; luckily this resolved after several minutes.
It's so bizarre.
In the past I started thyroid supplementation based upon being freezing cold all the time.
I tried T4 (levothyroxine), Armour, Westhroid, Nature-throid, Cytomel (which is short acting T3).
The only thing that made me feel warm was sustained-release T3 (SRT3).
This is T3 (the active form of thyroid hormone) that is compounded to a form that gets released slowly over time.
I am curious to see if the hot flash/sweat/shakiness resolves once Lyme is treated (if indeed it is due to Lyme).

Maybe it's babs related. The babs lab test misses babs all the time. A positive babs test is rare for a reason (didn't make it in the vile).

I'm taking cryptolepis for this just in case. My llmd has me on this for now basically because of this symptom even though I have almost no other babs specific symptoms. I've never had air hunger or drenching headaches. Anyway I'm taking the crypto and she'll probably rotate this by my next visit.
I personally think it is the Lyme and how much it affects my nervous system. But I still take the herbs, I think they can help sometimes more bugs than we know and also help with the immune system in general.

I meant drenching night sweats Not headaches. But I do get those and I think they can be just about anything...too common to categorize.

Yes, I have considered this as well. I plan to treat for Babesia as well in the near future.
