What's the protocol for a new Lyme rash for a child? Just a rash, no other symptoms, not sick.

Is the information in Treat the Bite current? That says amox for at least 4 weeks.

so Amox? For how long?

Thanks so much. I'm so sorry you had that experience.

We had a similarly frustrating start but just managed to work it out.

And for the millionth time I wonder, "Why does this all have to be so hard?"

Tincup should know if that info is current.

In the guidelines posted from Dr. Burrascano, he recommends 6 weeks.

Yes, info is current on TreatTheBite. Two sets of Lyme doc approved guidelines.

One is Dr. B's and the other is the more recent guidelines by our docs. Both sets are there.

Sorry you need them! Good luck!

My child was 5 weeks on amoxy after tick bite. NO rash. She had a lot of tummy pains, headaches, felt miserable, then started to have joint pains.

Amoxy did nothing to her, only worsen the tummy pains. I wanted her to be on amoxy for 6 weeks, but she felt so bad that our lyme dr told us to stop it immediately. It was not helping at all.

It took her about 5 months to get her digestion normalized. After that (around 2007), she just took 2 days rocephin IV in a relapse, but never anymore touched an abx in her life.

We have tried amoxy because it was the only solution available, that I knew, at that moment. But today, because of experience, I wouldn't give her amoxy, nor any abx. There are alternatives, much better alternatives for children, in my opinion.

Buhner, Chinese herbs, homeopathy, dr. K's treatments, biophotons, biomats, high frequencies, total change of diet, etc. It just takes more time and dedication (and belief you're doing it right).
