I'd also been doing HBOT, and had ascribed the myopia to that, but I've not done any more hyperbaric oxygen since Tuesday, and the vision seems pretty well the same, if not worse.
I've had my eyes checked by an optometrist – the retina is fine and the eye pressure is very good.
No, I had no choice re: the prednisone. The Mast Cell condition (caused / precipitated by the Lyme) caused me to have a horrible allergic reaction to a foam earplug and I developed a sudden hearing loss – prednisone and HBOT were the only ways to save the ear(s)...

Yes, I did. Within a week of stopping prednisone. The good news is that antibiotics have helped it greatly at times. I'm seeing double right now though.

Our neighbor upstairs wakes me every time he goes to the bathroom at night.
If I use the earplugs, I don't hear him. He sounds like an elephant up there.

Yea, well, according to MC specialist I spoke with, it could have been something the earplug was made of that caused the MC reaction, or it could have simply been the pressure of the earplug in my ear that caused it! I won't be putting anything in my ears again – lets hope I live to tell the tale! I'm not used to so many things going wrong!!

That's too bad - I use Mack's earplugs - they shape to the ear and I don't react to them, as like you, I have the mast cell reactions too.

Sorry to hear this canbravelyme. You might be allergic to latex (foam ear plug). I was given pred and got worse too.
