I have been feeling bad. Stomach pain nausea and went to ER.
I was diagnosed with a UTI. I somehow didn't notice symptoms of UTI until I got the diagnosis. Now that I think of it my lower stomach is cramping and my lower back hurts but I always have to pee constantly so that's nothing new.
My question is since nausea and stomach pain doesn't seem to go along with a bladder infection (I don't think?) Maybe I have a kidney infection and can they tell a difference with a urine test?
what antibiotics work for kidney infection? I have Macrobid and cipro but I don't intend on taking the cipro. Think I have a script for bactrim somewhere too.

The ER certainly should be able to determine if it was a bladder or a kidney infection. Did they give you an antibiotic for a UTI?
I would take the meds they gave you and wait to see if you improve. I hope you do. You really do not want this infection to have gone to your kidneys.
The site of your pain (stomach) indicates bladder infection. If it was a kidney infection, you would have upper back pain as that is where the kidneys are.
The nausea could be what is going around. Everyone is getting sick with it where I live. Lots of vomiting, etc. I hope you don't also have that!
Here is a webpage showing kidney infection versus bladder infection. They both fall under the term UTI:
I was prescribed cipro. I'm not taking that unless it's do or die.
The macrobid was recently prescribed but I managed it with d mannose. Don't see why macrobid wouldnt be fine. I have enough problems without getting floxxed.

I am having back pain but it's lower back up to bottom of rib cage. Does that Sound like kidney infection?

Why not get the records from the ER. They likely say where the infection is.
