I swear this is a Lyme herx plus.

Usually when I'm sick with Lyme I have some constellation of symptoms, usually neuro or neuromuscular, like twitching and buzzing and shaking and weakness. That's my MO.

Since I started diflucan I'm systemically sick -- sweating, brain fog, heavy, hard long sleep, did I say brain fog? Also tinnitus, which I usually don't have unless I'm on abx.

I would almost say it's like a hangover but there's no headache. Is this normal? I thought I was going to catch a break off abx and now there's THIS.

I'm tempted to stop this drug.

It does contain fluoride... could be the issue. It seems to STRIP me of electrolytes and I get dehydrated from it.

Not sure (memory), no time to look it up now- sorry, but isn't diflucan one of the drugs listed that has an affect on "persisters"?

I looked that up too, and apparently it does. I'm curious about that research though -- it seems like anything and everything has an effect on "persisters" these days. But it does feel *awfully* Lyme-y.

I'll try some trioral salts and AK Gold, thanks guys.

It hits lyme among other things.

I wish I had more literature. Got any, Badtick?

There is a protocol my prior LLMD, dr P in CT used based on studies he had. I know he specifically said it was active against lyme, and had me do a couple months combined with something else. This was 15 years ago,

Jordana- I had to stop it 6 months or so ago due to a massive flare. No doubt it hits persisters! Hang in there!

I took Diflucan along with Doxycycline for 3 months when I was first diagnosed in 2008 because I had read the protocol the doctor in the above link used. The combo did prostate me, but I didn't improve (maybe I stopped too soon!).
