Tick tubes can be expensive. Consider making your own since it is really easy.
Start saving your toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls. You can cut the paper towel rolls to make them smaller.
Spray cotton balls with permethrin, which is found in the sporting goods dept.
Place the permethrin sprayed cotton balls inside the cardboard tubes (which are biodegradeable).
Place the tubes around the perimeter of your property and anywhere else you want.
The mice will take the cotton to make their nests.
When the mice are in their nests, the permethrin will get on their fur and kill ticks that they are carrying.
This should cut down on the number of ticks on your property.

For me, it really helps to have a visual illustration of the process so that I can remember it better when it's time for us to treat our vacation property. Otherwise, I probably won't think about it when I need to implement the idea.
Here's an illustrated article which I printed out and put into a 3-ring binder which we keep on the coffee table at our vacation cottage where everyone can become familiar with how to do it whenever it's time to renew them.
