I have been dealing with Lyme since 2001 and used to be on here a lot but have now forgotten the basics! My cousin had a bullseye rash that covered her torso, after a tick was found on her.
I have some basic questions:
1) How long between the tick bite/presence and a rash generally?
2) At what point, in relation to the tick bite or the rash, would testing be best done?
3) How many weeks of antibiotics should she receive (they are only giving her two!) and which is the best antibiotic?
Thanks so much.

1. A few days (someone correct me if wrong, please)
2. About 6 wks after the bite ..
3. 4-6 wks is what I would want .. the keets replicate every 3-5 wks
Doxy is usually given first .. young children get amoxicillin.
How old is your child?

Thanks. These questions are for my female cousin, aged 64.

Tell her not to rely on info she Googles. And do NOT rely on getting a RASH with the Lyme disease. Most of us here never had the benefit of a rash to tell us we had been infected.
