No way can I can 3-5 days without advil to get this done. Did you have to do that? Did they put a metal marker in when they did it(stereotactic core biopsy). With my metal and electric sensitivities there's no way I'm getting that either. Just looking for others experiences with it.
Not sure i'll get it done, it's not like my body could tolerate any treatment anyway if the results were positive.

I feel the same way as you do .. I don't see how I could withstand the biopsy or the treatment for cancer.
I have heard SOME who say the biopsy is not bad. I don't believe it!
I can't take advil, so I don't have that problem...but I guess I'd have to give up my curcumin and that would be rough too.

Yes, no Advil or herbs for at least 5 days prior to treatments that put you at risk for any bleeding as they thin the blood; very important.
I have had 2 breast biopsies and had no problems/worsening health-wise with the lyme and coinfections. I did have to get the titanium clip in one of them which was a core needle biopsy. It has caused no problems whatsoever. I tried to avoid it and the radiologist was on board with trying to avoid it too but it turned out to be necessary in the end.
I am very thin, a B cup, and I can't see it or feel it etc... I have forgotten about it really. It does not hurt in any way. Apparently its the size of a sesame seed.
You could speak to the radiologist and explain your concerns. They might have a solution that works for you.
I'm sorry you are dealing with this. It is stressful. Fortunately 80% of biopsies are benign!

unsure,why was the clip necessary. My emf sensitivities have recently gotten much worse, at the same time I became sensitive to metals. I can't use a metal toothpick anymore or even roll coins for bank deposit or I get really jittery.
Not willing to put any more metal in my body and possibly worsen this as it puts me on the edge of sanity at times, and my bf of 15 years has had to move out since he can't use electricity much in the house.
I'm worried even if they agree not to place the clip that they might do it anyway.

It sounds like you have a very valid reasons to skip the clip although there will be an argument that titanium is a completely inert metal FYI.
In my case the mass was quite small and once the ultrasound guided biopsy began there was concern that there wouldn't be enough of the mass left to make it locatable if there was reason to go back in for a lumpectomy.
I was not comfortable with this and either was the radiologist. By this point I had also heard from others with Lyme that the clip had posed no issues whatsoever so I felt a little more at ease about getting it.

I had not trouble with not taking advil or alleve for a few days nor did I have trouble with the titanium clip.
I ended up with a lumpectomy due to the fact the biopsy was unclear whether it was cancer (it wasn't) and they took the clip out then.
I am a total wimp but the biopsy wasn't too bad. I did have a friend come with me, though, to the procedure.

I hate to nag you about a difficult issue, but if you ignore it and it is cancer, you will be in a terrible, painful mess. ANd if it is, you don't have to do the regular treatment; I'm not doing the regular treatment (much to the horror of the oncologist and regular breast surgeon).
Did you have an ultra sound first? That would be a first step in diagnosing it correctly.
More on this later when I'm in better shape.

I give up on the medical community. They refuse to perform a a biopsy without placing the metal marker in after. I understand the risk of not placing it. But if they knew what it was like to be a human antenna they might understand.
So I guess they would prefer I let this go on without more info than do the test in a way that is safer for me. Plus the receptionist at the front, and my primary care doctor told me I could have it done without having it placed.
so essentially they'd rather I die from breast cancer that not allow them to put in the marker, and maybe that is what will happen, sorry for the drama but I'm at my wits end with this.

Can you just have the lump taken out without the biopsy? That is what I did. I didn't feel like fooling with an inconclusive biopsy.
Surprising everyone mine turned out to be cancerous so then had to have lymph nodes and radiation.

Yes, that IS a possibility. It is likely your best bet, since they won't do it without placing a clip. What the $%#?!
The woman who runs it, who has been researching this for 25 years (& went through it herself) advocates having it out vs a regular biopsy. She has tons of information on the website above. Highly recommended. It's helped me a lot.

I was not crazy about the idea of the titanium clip, but when the biopsy was positive for cancer, they used the clip to locate the proper region for the lumpectomy.
I had two breast biopsies--one was horrible, painful, and the second was completely painless!
The biopsy is completely "operator-dependent". The first biopsy was done by a radiologist at a local radiologic center.
The ultrasound tech working with him was terribly aggressive in pressing on the location so that the doctor could find the spot to biopsy. Worse, the local anesthetic had zero effect. It was a horrible experience.
I opted to have my second biopsy at a major medical center. I was so terrified, but it was completely painless!
The radiologist was extremely careful and gentle and there was no pain. I was in complete shock when she was done.
She told me that some centers do not use a buffered? anesthetic, which can cause pain.
I was so relieved this biopsy went so well, and so furious that I experienced unnecessary pain at the local place.
A biopsy, when done correctly, does not need to be painful.
