Random muscle jerks? Like be sitting cross legged and leg will spasm? Is that normal? I know it's normal during sleep. A non Lyme friend of mine gets them too.

I get them... They used to be much worse. I don't think it is normal. I also would jerk awake as I was falling asleep.
I think it is some kind of adrenaline problem. Lyme and co infections can DEFinitely cause this.

Someone else said mag and recd chelated mag. I take mag citrate now. 150 mg. Myoclonic jerks are common during sleep.

They could also be called myoclonic jerks or myoclonic seizures.
I have to take clonazepam to control mine or my legs will jerk so much I fall down.

Restless leg syndrome includes spasms and sometimes a feeling that a spider is crawling on the legs.
For that, I've been taking mirapex, pramapexole, for many years. I've been told that when LD is under control, I won't need it anymore. I've been able to cut back a little just lately.
Also, good suggestions to take plenty of magnesium.
It's important to stay hydrated. Drinking a lot of water alone may cause problems because the body wants it to be compatible and sometimes leaches minerals out of tissue.
A little lemon in a large glass of water is enough, or eat something. My LLMD said it doesn't take much. Before I found out about this, it was hard for me to drink enough water.

Your problems are very similar to mine. For several years, I have been living in constant stress and tension. It is most likely related to my field of activity. Your cramps may be the result of a stressful emotional state. I attended yoga, practiced meditation, and went to psychological sessions. Such activities' cumulative effect helped me fight stress and anxiety. A little later, I added weekly massage to this list.

Since I posted here last, the leg spasms got worse.
I was drinking enough water, taking more magnesium, and added iron, but they still got worse.
I searched leg cramps here and found cryptoletis.
Cryptolepis can be found in a search on this site, in about a dozen posts.
I've been taking it for a month and the leg cramps were almost entirely gone immediately.
It's been recommended to take the drops for 3 months.
It seems 2 bottles total will be enough for the doses I'm taking, half a dropper twice a day.

Yes, I love Cryptolepis. . It cut my night sweats in half! I take the Researched Nutritional's brand and it’s pricey!
Out of ALL the supplements that LLMD’s recommend, I find that Crytolepis is the only one that I FEEL working and SEE noticeable improvements.
John Hopkins did a research study on the top 7 herbs that kill borrelia (Lyme). Cryptolepis was number 1 in killing both mobile and persisted forms, but in a test tube (in vitro).
It is usually recommended for Babesia so this study was really surprising as that it also destroyed Lyme.
