Suspected resp. infection I was Rx'd Doxy. (April). Thought oh dear. I did surprisingly well with it though.
Well enough that I thought to try it again for my eyes. (MGD - dry eyes). I took it for years - low dose - before and after Lyme Dx. Eye doctor Rx'd it (May) and it was filled at different pharmacy.
I noted the capsules were blue. Thought - uh oh. I remembered something about this - why I stopped Doxy. I took one anyway - and it made me so sick. How could that be?
The Doxy I took in April was PAR Pharmacy - two colors on caps.
The ones from May - blue - are Westward Pharmacy. I took one. Never again.
I think it burned my esophagus and also made me feel dreadful. Nauseous.
Thoughts? Have others noticed such differences with ABX and manufacturers?
So tired........am I making sense?

Yes, you are making sense. It's worrisome when you get the same ABX from different manufacturers.
It's been a while since I've been on doxy, but I seem to remember handing the blue ones better. Just think Tiffany blue, haha.

I take several RX’s, most are generic.
I was concerned about that same issue (different drug). I brought the pill into the pharmacy, they confirmed that it was not a counterfeit.
They even let me look at the stock bottle & read the information packet that was attached to it. (Had where it was manufactured & when, expiration date...
If anyone is unsure about the medication given to them, your pharmacist has a book called the PDR where he can compare your pill to pictures of it’s brand & generics. If all details are identical then your drug is real.
Pharmacists also have computer apps/programs that do the same thing.
And I’ve noticed they seem to truly enjoy helping customers. They care.

Doxy in the blue capsules was rough for us too. Any chance your bicolor caps were Monodox? That form of doxy is much easier on the GI tract, I recall the version of that I had came in blue/white bicolor capsules.

- The additives can often be different, and be sure to check for gluten as well. Go to one if the celiac websites for a better gluten in Rx check. -
