The past six weeks, I've been on Rifampin, Roxyithromycin, and Plaquenil.

This was taken due to what we think was Bart causing lymph problems for the last year. It only sorta responded to avelox, but my sympotoms generally responded to Bart meds, not improvement to lyme or Babs meds.

The Roxy is for the synergistic properties with Rifampin. The Plaquenil is for its properties
to help the effectiveness of the two antibiotics. Extra side bonus is Roxy hits Lyme, and Plaquenil hits my Babs and may be a soft lyme cyst buster.

At first, started Rifampin and felt better the next day. I felt like a light switch switched on,felt better and better. This was at 600mg twice a day. Added in the Roxy and Plaquenil and really didnt feel better or worse from them.

Per my LLMD's recommendations I ramped up to 900mg of Rif twice a day. Got some yucky muscle ache and joint pain, but after a week it went away. Felt good.

Now, 6 weeks in, I just seem to be feeling yuckier and yuckier. My original pre-regimine sympotoms are back (lymph in neck swollen horribly), and I feel like I have a bad headcold or flu constantly. I feel like impending doom.

Has anybody had a herx this many weeks into treatment? I'm not sure if its a herx or some weird Rifampin side effect. I really dont want to quit it due to the fact one cant easily restart Rif.

Thanks. Any thoughts appreciated.

Your "monthly" herxes will typically hit every 3-5 weeks, so this could be it for you. It follows the replication cycle of the spirochete.

I felt like death on Rifampin and had to stop after 5 days at 300 mg per day.

900 sounds horrific to me
