My daughter was recently diagnosed with Lyme and I think it was the chronic Lyme that caused her GI issues, cyclic vomiting syndrome, GERD, eosinophilic esophagitis, migraines, and chronic knee pain.
But she has never had a tick on her. I never let her play in wooded areas, she’s afraid of animals, she’s never had an abnormal bug bite. And her symptoms basically started at birth (including liver cysts and stomach pains).
The only exposure to tics that I had occurred 10 years ago when I lived on a farm. I saw tics a lot but never thought I got bit.
After my daughter was born 7 years ago I began having terrible fatigue, dizziness, lightheadedness, and a lot of other random symptoms. This all worsened when my son was born 2 years ago and I began having joint pain - mainly hip/pelvic pain.
Both kids were small for gestational age, had jaundice, but were healthy.
Has anyone else had worsening symptoms with pregnancy? Does anyone have any insight on this?

Are you asking if it can be passed along through pregnancy? If so, then yes.
But she could EASILY have been bitten by a tick and not have known it .. just like what happened to you.
Oh .. and yes, you can feel worse after giving birth. The trauma can bring out the Lyme, or other illnesses.

Your story sounds very familiar in many ways.
Over 50% of those with Lyme don't remember ever being bitten by a tick. We do have evidence Lyme can be sexually transmitted and passed from mother to baby too.

Lymetutu, sorry I was rambling. I guess I’m just trying to figure out if it makes sense that pregnancy could be a catalyst for Lyme symptoms, despite being infected at an earlier time.
It’s wild how many published articles there are that prove Lyme can be passed to a fetus through the placenta - and yet when I asked our doctors they said “absolutely not!” There are hundreds of documented cases of Lyme being found in the organs of miscarried babies - so sad.
I now know to bring printed articles with me to every appointment haha. Mandatory homework.
I’m reading more about how syphilis and malaria affect pregnancy as syphilis is so similar to Borrelia and maleria is so similar to babesia. Malaria can cause growth restriction, low weight for gestation, and jaundice, I wonder if babesia does the same.
