I haven’t been on here in a long time since I’m doing pretty good these days. But I need some info. His niece told my husband today that she was told that she had Lyme disease. I don’t know who told her this.

She also said that they are spending tons of money on treatment that insurance doesn’t cover. I’ve very suspicious because the treatment is being given “dead lyme” to cure her current Lyme. Has anyone ever heard of this?

I can’t find it on the internet anywhere. As far as I know, Lyme bacteria either can’t or is very difficult to grow so what would the source even be?

And even if there was a source, dead bacteria are given to spur your immune system to make antibodies.

Could they be thinking that enough antibodies would be able to kill Lyme bacteria? I forget if antibodies can cross the blood brain barrier which is one of the places Bb can hide.

Am I missing some new research or treatment protocols? Or is she being duped by some quake outfit?

I don't know about this type of treatment.

Btw - please break up your posts into 2-3 sentence paragraphs, as there are people on Lymenet who cannot read large blocks of text due to neurological problems from Lyme.

To do this click the "Edit Post" tab at the top of your post, make your changes, then click "Edit Post". Thanks.

I can't imagine how that would be done. Sounds worrisome.

Yes, I had it done.

It's called the Lyme Mix Low Dose Immunotherapy.

They take an ultrasound to break-up Lyme spirochetes, then sterilize them, and make a homeopathic dilution that they inject into you, which can induce immunity againest the disease.

Here's the science behind it;

"The theory is that the bugs aren't the reason we stay ill, it's the body's overreacting to the bugs. An immune system malfunction."
