Hi,
I'm pregnant and I have chronic lyme (although I've been told that it's in remission - I haven't had symptoms for about 4 years). My baby is due in March and I want him to be tested for lyme because I know that it can be passed congenitally.

So far every pediatrician that I call just says no or tells me that Lyme cannot be passed congenitally (despite the fact that 2 of my cousins were born with lyme).

My cousins had their foreskin, blood, cord blood, and placentas tested for Lyme. This was 17 years ago, however, and I cannot find any doctor who can even tell me what tests I need or who are willing to help.

Is there anyone who knows what the names of the tests I need are? Or knows a doctor who can help? I live in NJ. Or any suggestions in general?

So very sorry you cannot acess knowledgeable providers.
You must be beyond frustrated.
WE HAVE THE SCIENCE !!!! UGH!!!!!

Here are a list of labs that test for TBI's through blood, urine, and tissue biopsies. Scroll down to "Labs for Tick Borne Disease Testing."

https://sites.google.com/view/marylandlyme/lab-tests/lab-contact-info?authuser=0

You can order the kit yourself for around 20.00 but you will need a MD to sign the requisite form. The testing panels are expensive but some insurances will refund partial or whole payments. You can call these companies yourself and their representatives are very helpful.

Regular labs are useless and will miss up to 56% -70% of positive cultures.

Igenex is the preferred lab by many LLMD'S.

Contact the LLMD provided by Hopingandpraying.

Congratulations on your new baby due in March.
So happy for you. Truly a blessing. ❤️
