30+ years multiple Lyme/Babesia infections , two vacation on Nantucket Island, and two local yardley, pa. Tired. What I thought anxiety these days despite serious heart symptoms early on accompanied by abusive behavior from UPenn drs who never did a real medical exam, the often scary heart symptoms I had and wrote off to ‘Lyme anxiety’
now after a real med tests have revealed moderate mitral valve regurgitation. Does anyone else have that heart condition? What do I expect and do from here? I do have an appointment with a cardiologist in a few weeks.
But anyone else out there have this heart condition as a result of untreated, then undertreated Lyme disease?

I do not have cardiac regurgitation. But I do have tick born infections and am HLA-B27 positive.
Many Lyme patients are HLA-B27 positive. LLMD’s test for this genetic malfunction because it makes Lyme patients harder to clear the infections.
It also causes many auto-immune conditions. It is also implicated in cardiac manifestations including mitral regurgitation.
I cannot remember exactly what the genes letter-numbers were, but I was tested and I do have the two genes for mold -allergy?- as well as the gene Dr Shoemaker calls ‘the dreaded gene’ that may be the HLA-B27, only 7% of the population has and it makes you harder to cure from Lyme as well as sensitive to a strain of algae found in some lakes as well as some other things. I only found out just a few years ago and that Dr turned out to be a bit of a nutcase, unfortunately. I cannot afford to go to a llmd right now. The heart issues are really scaring me.

Yes, it's fairly common if you have MVP.
I suppose you are seeing a cardiologist?

I just saw a news report about a new procedure developed by a Dr Bavishi at MU.
Seems to work very well.
There are 4 million people who have MR.

Hi Lymtoo, I did make an appointment with a cardiologist, but it is not until April, although the receptionist told me to keep calling back in case of a cancellation. The cardiologist is my husband’s cousin, although there is a big age difference and we used to live far away and so have not seen him in 20 yrs. Nevertheless, even if he is clueless about Lyme, I think he will have my best interests in my mind.
