This is crazy.

Today I was outside, overcast conditions for about 2 hours.

Roughly 5 hours later, laying in bed, strange sensations came over me. First inching, then pins and needles, then painful faint faring nerve pain, then blotches of red areas on skin, then of coarse anxiety. I thought maybe I was in the beginnings of a shingles attack.

Process of elimination, I believe it is a sun allergy.
I took a Benadryl and applied lotion of my itchy areas.

I currently am on Amox, Nystatin, Plaquenil, Art.
I take the same supplements I’ve always taken with no problems.

Anyone ever experience this, out of the blue, after no previous history?

Just by chance, I have my 6 month follow up with Immunologist tomorrow.

I think Nystatin can cause a severe reaction like doxy does.

Or .. you are heading towards MCAS. I pray not!!

PS .. Look it up .. I think plaquenil can do the same thing. Not sure.

Plaquenil causes sun sensitivity. Even on a cloudy day. I am now a cut flower farmer on both Plaquenil and Doxy. Both have this as a side effect. I wear sun blocking surfing tops, long pants, wide brim hats, gardening gloves and sun screen on my face (from reflecting sun). Not fun, but very necessary.

My sister, healthy and not on meds, has self diagnosed sun allergy.

If she spends time in the sun, she gets red streaks on her exposed skin, and she says if she pushes it, she does get sick.

She's been careful for so many years, she doesn't remember details.

I don't have that skin reaction, but just cannot tolerate being in the sun. I think that's common with Lyme disease.

I don't seem to herx, but maybe that's because I'm very careful. I'm not on any meds that cause sun sensitivity.
