Hi all - I am getting retested for the works (Lyme and the other TBDs) through Igenex after many years. My doc wants me off antibiotics for two weeks before testing. I remember in the past hearing that you should go off antibiotics and then resume, and then test while herxing. Any thoughts? I get tested on Friday and have been off treatment since last weekend... I feel like I should go back on for a few days before getting tested... Thanks!

“Winning The Fight Againest NeuroDegenerative Diseases “ website lists an antibiotic provocative test. They believe it helps to get a positive response on testing. https://winningthefight.org/the-provocative-antibiotic-test/ It doesn’t include references to any research studies or trials as to the science behind their protocol. Many LLMD’s recommend an antibiotic challenge before taking the urine dot blot, that test captures the shed antigen in the urine. There are many Lyme patients who recommend lymphatic dry brushing, hot showers and rebounding lightly on a mini trampoline before any testing. Their reasoning is to get the spiroketes out of tissues and into blood..https://youtu.be/-pygu7OlOj0 On the IGeneX website, it states “Antibiotic therapy given early in the development of the disease may prevent an antibody response.” So I would personally call IGeneX for their exact directions since their tests are expensive.

Thank you Bonnie - this is very helpful! Hmmm supposed to test friday. I guess I can go with the latter option. Or I will call Igenex tomorrow - good idea...
