Mitt is used to remove ticks from humans and pets before they attach:

Thank you Phoiph! I had not seen this before. This would be easier to use than a lint roller.

I just heard of it too, although apparently it has been on Shark Tank.

At first I thought it was just pricey microfiber cloth, but read it is actually a patented cross between velcro and microfiber, which catches tick legs.

The videos look pretty effective.

how do you overcome the fear of ticks once you already have lyme?

You don't!

I have been well for over 10 years and will always be vigilant and take as many precautions as I reasonably can.

That said, it is a "healthy fear" which I try not to let rule my life. I still have a dog, and spend as much time as I can outdoors.

I agree with Phoiph.

I don't have Lyme, my son does. After everything he and our whole family have - and still are - going through because of this nightmare, I have no desire to go into any forests or be out in the fields!

I love nature, but this has turned everything around (and not for the better!). Not taking ANY chances - do NOT ever want to go through this again!! [Mad]
