I have heard about ways to touch the Vagus nerve with cool water, etc. on wrists and face - I can't remember now but it may be worth looking into.

The article seems to talk about a device you need but I think there are books and internet info out there to try using the nerve stimulation (to see if it can work) at home without a device.

Too exhausted to look it up now. I'll add something later maybe.
