I am new here, and newly diagnosed with lyme disease. I have been on two courses of oral antibiotics including Ceftin and Doxyclocline. Ceftin did nothing with symptoms, Doxy began to work a bit after 2 1/2 weeks-headache pain was finally relieved. However, it was only a 3 week course.
I am now finished with the antibiotics and symptoms are quickly returning. I have had a LP, showed no lyme or other infectious diseases in my CSF (however, don't know exactly what they checked for).
My symptoms include: persistent headaches-no relief from headache meds joint pain severe fatigue depression short term and long term memory impairment neck stiffness (comes and goes) flu like symptoms (comes and goes) night sweats (comes and goes)
Could someone please pm me with any information on a lyme specialist on Long Island in New York? I would even travel to the city, if I could find someone to help. I live on Eastern Long Island.
Thanks so much, Kim
