Was treated about 5 years ago for Lyme's. I actually found the tick and knew it was a deer tick but made the mistake of not bringing it (the tick) to my dr. He was skeptical it was a deer tick bite (even with the bulls eye rash), but did a blood draw and ordered the lyme's test, but did not treat with antibiotics. Over the weekend, I developed the classic symptoms, returned to the dr on Monday, where they finally gave me the doxicycline. The antibiotics seemed to do the trick at that time. (The test did come back positive, eventually.) Now, 5 years later, I am suffering with swollen knee joints and memory difficulties. I have seen an orthopedic specialist, but when you mention Lyme's their eyes gloss over. I've been told I have arthritis and given cortisone shots in the knee. I would just like to see someone who specializes in Lyme related diseases. This one is beginning to scare me, and I am fearful for the future. Thanks.
