My guess from helping a lot of folks in your area is that there are no good lyme doctors in Long Island.

However, there are doctors there who treat lyme disease and charge you an awful lot of money for it. So, I suggest that you send me a private message if you pick a doc in Long Island. Tell me his name and I will give you all the info I have on that doc.

Just click on the icon above my post that is an envelope and 2 people standing next to it.

There is an outstanding lyme doctor in Hyde Park, NY, about 60 miles north of NYC. Let me know if you want the name and the info I have on this doc.

Your most important decision is who you go to for treatment because the doctor is the key to getting rid of this disease! I can't emphasize that enough. The doc is the key.

There is no standard ABC treatment for this disease, so each doctor's treatment of you can be vastly different--from herbs only to low-dose one antibiotic therapy, to the high-dose combination of antibiotics plus supplements, diet, and a certain type of exercise that got me well.

My treatment that cured me was the Burrascano protocol.

I had undiagnosed lyme disease (plus babesiosis and bartonella) for at least 10 years before a doctor figured out what was wrong with me. Still, I got rid of it. That was over 8 years ago.

But, the way my cure happened was that I went through 2 other doctors who didn't know enough to cure me and then once I wised up, I went to a doctor who followed the Burrascano protocol.

This is the protocol that has gotten me and a number of my friends well. You can read the protocol here:

http://www.ilads.org/lyme_disease/B_guidelines_12_17_08.pdf

In his day, when Dr. Burrascano was treating lyme full-time in the Hamptons, he was the most successful lyme doctor on the planet. He put out his Guidelines for free to teach all other doctors how to do it.

His Guidelines are followed by many doctors in many other countries around the world. But, doctors are free to do their own thing. So, be warned. Nobody can make them follow Burrascano and it seems that so many, many lyme doctors do not. (Won't get into the reasons here.)

Many doctors treat lyme, but only a very few know enough to get rid of it for a person. So, if you are willing to consider Hyde Park, NY, let me know. You can do telephone appointments after your first in-person appointment.

Welcome to LymeNet, and I wish you the best.
