Summary: My 2y/o son got bit by a nymph deer tick 2/5(am)in an endemic area. The tick was attached for >24-32 hours (I have it). The removal 2/6(pm)was the best we could do but was imperfect. The tick jaw was removed by his PCP later that day.
PCP is excellent. However, she recommends watch and wait for sypmtoms priot to ABXs.
My feeling is that possibly due to the combination of: area, duration, known type of tick, age (less helpful w/ syptoms...) He maybe should go w/ the ABXs. Dunno.
I'm asking someone to point me in the right direction. I realize there is no data to prove ABXs is the way to go w/o clinical diagnosis. i basically want a 2nd & or 3rd opinion.
