It's possible that you were never really treated long enough. It's important to be symptom-free for several months before ending treatment. Many people on this board have been treated for years before stopping. As for 'cured' - I can't say. I think that possibly your own immune system kicks in at some point. You should never give blood if you have/had chronic Lyme...
I see that Meg sent you a list of name of NJ LLMD's (Lyme Literate MD's) back in June. Have you contacted anyone on that list yet?
You can also try the Lyme Disease Association's website. It allows you to search for LLMD's by entering your zip code/city/state. The site will give you docs closest to you. Lyme Disease Association Doctor Referral page: http://www.lymediseaseassociation.org/referral
When calling doctors, ask about office visit fees, possible insurance participation, treatment protocols etc.

You ABSOLUTELY need a LLMD! Most regular docs have no idea how to treat Lyme.
I am symptom-free after nearly 10 years of up-and-down symptoms. It took close to 2 years of treatment, though.
PLEASE call a LLMD. The longer you wait, the more difficult the Lyme is to treat. Plus, you could have co-infections which were never diagnosed.
People get better. There is a link on LymeNet to many, many success stories.
