I was diagnosed with LYME DISEASE a few days ago after months of illness. I am miserable and am in pain. My doctor prescribed antibiotics and told me to get to an infectious disease dr but none seem to be taking new patients. I need help fast. Any recommendations for Fairfield County CT?

I was unable to post a PM to you. I would start with either Dr. K or Dr. Y.

We don't post actual names so please open up your private messages or send me a private message and I'll respond.

Unfortunately you are experiencing the Lyme controversy which all here know about.

It's amazing there is a controversy to this insidious disease and I've found it easiest to show a couple of u tube video's on the controversy.

If you watch this video you can see some of the miss diagnosis.

Dr. B's Advanced Topics in Lyme disease.

This is our Lyme doctor. It took us 8+ months, 9 MD's, 2 Children's Hospital's before we started to learn about the controversy and find him.

http://www.yaledailynews.com/news/2011/apr/05/amid-medical-controversy-children-saved/

He is a saint and I show this to help illustrate how MD's have been prosecuted so normal MD's shy away from doing anything but following the flawed IDSA guidelines.

I believe I set up Private Reply. I have been through quite a bit in the past several months and would appreciate any guidance.

You need to get to a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD) a.s.a.p.

Please do not go to Infectious disease doctors as they have no clue about this horrible disease and its complex treatment.

I don't know of any LLMDs in your area, but I'm sure others will pm you with that information.

You might want to click on "Support Groups" in the upper left-hand corner of the Lymenet page, then "CT'.

Contact information will come up. Maybe they can help you.
