- I hope you get some specific replies.
In the meantime:
Sadly, there are zero lyme literate MDs (LLMD) in Oregon.
Just across the river from Portland, there is one LLMD/ND in Vancouver, WA.
Otherwise, travel to California or other parts of Washington state is required to find a LLMD.
However, there are several good ILADS-educated LL NDs (naturopathic doctors) in Oregon.
In Oregon, all NDs are licensed to prescribe the full range of pharmaceutical prescriptions, including antibiotics -- along with supportive herbal or nutritional supplements to help protect the liver, etc.
A list of Oregon support groups at the bottom of this information page can help you find an ILADS-educated LL ND in state or a LLMD out of state.
Just zipper in the state name where you seek a LL doctor. To join for discussion, best to join in your own state. -

(What ILADS is) . . . WHY you need an ILADS-educated, Lyme Literate Doctor (whether MD or ND) - starting with assessment / evaluation. -

- There appear to be no lyme support groups near your Dad. However, you might call the others to see if they know of anyone near him.
While still far away, Hood River seems the closest support group. I'd call them first.
Call to see who near your Dad may be ILADS-educated and lyme literate. Most are not so it's important to find one who is.

Talk to some of the veterinarians. They often know more about lyme than MDs. A good vet may know of a MD willing to address lyme (but one who is just flying under the radar as the Oregon Medical Board does not want MDs treating lyme).
Thank you so very, very much. I was away from computer for the weekend and came back to check if anyone had responded. And you di. I will look into these suggestions. I really can't thank you enough.
