I am seeking an LLMD for an under 18yr old person in any (all) of the following states, as these are the closest to me: AL, GA, TN, KY, NC, OH, SC Any and all help is very much appreciated!

Our patient was bitten by a tick, no rash, but the head stayed in for several days. They became ill within 2-3 days of being bitten. They were given a month of doxy, which was administered 6-7 days after the tick bite. We were told that would take care of it and the Lyme would be cured. We now know how incorrect that information was.

That was 10 months ago and they have just had a recurrence of the original symptoms: low grade fever, headache, abdominal cramping and nausea.

We have been on a strong probiotic along with a grain free/sugar free/starch free diet for almost 7 months, so I feel ok about yeast and gut health for now. We have the person on fish oil, vitamin c, zinc, magnesium, and the probiotic.

I have read several treatment protocols, and am placing an order for supplements today, but am anxiously seeking advice on what is necessary, given that the person was treated so quickly and there is just now a recurrence of symptoms. Thank you!

Not sure if this is relevant, or not, but before the tick bite, we had been gluten-free for 2 years.

PM sent for NC (I don't know of any in the other states you were asking about).

Check the online state Lyme groups at:
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/statenamelyme

Maybe they can help you.

Some more resources for you:
www.lyme-aware.org
www.sc-lyme.com
www.kentuckyindianalymesupport.org
www.ilads.com
www.lymediseaseassociation.org

Once you get some names, write a new post in "Seeking a Doctor" to ask for personal references. This way, you will find the right doctor to give the correct treatment.

I didn't get the PM...or maybe I'm not looking in the right place? I checked my profile page. Is that where it would be?

Just sent it - try again.

Look below your name (upper left-hand side where it says "Hello,LymieMom3" and click on the flashing envelope icon where it flashes " You have 1 unread private message". It will open up my pm to you.
