I had an appointment with a doctor on August 5th, however, their staff called to tell me that they are no longer seeing Lyme patients and they had to cancel my appointment.
If you could recommend someone that accepts insurance, I would greatly appreciate it.

There is nobody in Florida that I can recommend anymore now that the lyme doc who was in Tampa has retired.
I am recommending that all lyme patients in Florida come to the Washington, D.C. area to see someone good. South of D.C., there just aren't any good lyme doctors. There are very few docs south of D.C. who treat lyme at all.
If you want to get rid of this horrendous disease, you really need to go to someone good. That means someone who treats lyme full time. Such a doctor will NOT take insurance.
If you want the name of the doc I recommend, let me know and I will send the info to you. You can get an appointment within a few days. This is a great opportunity to see a good lyme doc with really no wait.
After the first in-person appointment, he will do monthly telephone or Skype appointments, so you will only have to travel to the D.C. area once every 3 months.
I can send you prices and many happy patient reports.
Welcome to LymeNet! We will help you here all we can.
p.s. You can check Support Groups on the left side of the page. Find out where folks are going to get good lyme treatment. I have heard that there is someone good in Louisiana, but that is all I know about that.

So sorry you lost your previous appointment.
If you go to www.FloridaLyme.org and look at the Doctor Referral listing on the menu to your left you will find a site providing contact information on FL doctors.
There are also additional USA listings (by State), additional country's listings, support group lists, links for alternative care providers, MTHFR providers, Morgellon's providers, and a list of speciality labs often used by experts for testing purposes.
If you are searching for someone with a specific speciality (chiropractor, children or pediatrician, PA, DO, MD, etc.) you can type in what speciality you are looking for in the search bar (upper right) for faster results.
Some providers offer Skype and/or phone services. Once at the doctor referral site, to find these providers please check the state listings or use the search bar (top right) and type in the word phone or Skype.
Hope that helps you with your search! Also hope you are feeling better soon!
You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are.
Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
