Hello All

I am aggressively searching for a Lyme literate doc in New York. I was given the name of a Dr. B in the Hamptons, however he is too expensive and not taking new patients. I am really distressed. About six months ago my family was infected with parasites (mom- me, dad, and four kids). After research and many internet contacts we understand the vector that carries the parasite is essentially responsible for Lyme. Everything else is a result of related co infections. My kids are sooo sick. They have everything from rash, to cyclic high fevers to severe joint pain and swelling along with headaches. My oldest son 12, has gone form an honors student to a boy who is simply attempting to cope. I am at a lost. All clinical labs come back negative! An Elisha test and western blot was done via Quest Labs. All were negative. I cannot find a Lyme literate doc to help my family. I need help!

While perusing the IGENEX site, I found a link to this web address. I hope I can get some help.

Good luck to you!

Hi onesmartgal,
Welcome to LymeNet. So sorry to hear that your family is having so many health problems.

I'll let someone else recommend a LLMD for the adults, but there is a wonderful Lyme Pediatrician in New Haven, CT. We took my 12 yr old grandson to him in April & he'll go back in July.

Dr Charles Ray Jones
Phone 203 - 772 - 1123

For more info about him, go to: www.wildernetwork.org/LDpediatricfund.html

Normally we don't give drs' names here, but Dr Jones has given permission.

Are all 4 children sick?
Where are you in New York?

Print "Basic Info" - 3 pages of facts everyone should read at www.ilads.org
note #s 5-8: Testing
#6 says in part - "The ELISA test is unreliable..."

Then click 'Articles & Presentations' & print a copy of "Diagnostic Hints & Treatment Guidelines..." - 32 pages of excellent info on Lyme & Co-Infections.

"Links for new LymeNet members" covers all aspects of Tick-Borne Diseases (TBDs). http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum1/HTML/009342.html

Again, welcome to LymeNet. People here are so willing to share what they have learned from experiencing Lyme & Co-Infections.

Keep asking questions, & we'll help you with the answers.
