I'm trying to decide whether I can afford to see him. On top of the travel, his fee for a first-time visit seems really high. Can you tell me whether that's a one-time charge and later visits are more reasonable? I understand he spends 90 minutes on that first visit (wonderful!), but can't really get serious about him if every visit is going to be that much (especially given that I will have travel halfway across the country to see him.
Thanks!
Jeff
He if very thorough and gives many handouts to support you along the way.
My daughter and her two daughters saw him for the first time the last of August and were not required to return until January.
So, if you figure the cost of more visits to other LLMDs who require more frequent visits, then you'd come out better seeing Dr. C financially.
I not sure, since he has raised his prices recently and I am on Medicare which he does accept, but, do believe that his subsequent visits are much less than that initial first visit.
Most of his patients do have to travel great distances to see him and he understands that...that is one of the reasons he is willing to do Phone Appointments between visits. So, I'd say many of us see him only two-four times per year.
I saw him last January, then again in August and will see him again in January, 2005.
As far as I can tell, he has one of the most reasonable fees schedule of any of the LLMDs.
If you want a good price on motels while there or on the way, try www.roomsaver.com
I usually stay in Branson, as it is on the way and only 40 minutes from Dr. C's office and they have such great "deals" on rooms.
I don't think that you'll be disappointed if you do decide to see him. But, if you are very far (I'm not on the page to tell where you are from or if you even posted it), AND, you are very sick, you may try contacting one of those organizations that provide air travel for treatment.
Somewhere, that info has been posted here in the past. You may want to try a search if you need their services. Hope this helps.

The follow-up visits are around $130 for at least 45 minutes.
Compare that with the $60 my regular MD charges for 10 minutes....and I'd say it's a bargain. This regular MD also charged my husband $100 for a 20 min visit. Sheesh.
So, since this is one of the best LLMD's in the country....I say you can't lose.

Your visits are long and thorough, and Rosemary is right about the handouts...excellent. I refer to them quite often.
He is caring and listens, answers all your questions. I usually come in with a typed list of questions. Future visits to him are quite a bit less, depending on how much time he spends with you, I think, not sure about that.
He is always aware of costs to the patient and trys to keep it reasonable for all his patients.
