I am writing for a co-worker, who has had lyme since this past summer. I am not familar with LLMDs who treat adults. My daughter had lyme and her doctor was Dr. J in CT.
My friend became sick in the summer, she was treated with antibiotics. The doctor feels she is cured. She has many of the same symptoms as my daughter. Many she didn't even realize were related to the lyme disease until we discussed my daughters symptoms. At times, she has such joint pain and swelling,she is unable to walk.
She is a single parent with two teenagers. She made a huge mistake of going to an ID doctor at Hopkins. I only found out she went yesterday and spent $500 of her own money. She has little understanding of the politics involved in treating lyme. She wondered why the ID dr was hostile to her. She has a better understanding now. She thought this was the doctor to help her, she is very disappointed. I have told her our daughter's story and the frustrations we had.
We live in Harford County, Maryland. Can anyone give me some names of doctors around this area?
