Just moved from New Jersey to South Carolina. My lyme is getting extremely bad. I have battled disease for 10 years but last two I have been able to function mainly off abx. The past couple of months I have been getting sicker and sicker. Are there any doctors that treat chronic lyme in SC? I called support group in the area but they said there are no doctors. Does anyone know of a doctor that would treat over the phone or email? Thanks, Karen

actually, it's called telemedicine and it is governed by state law. You'd have to look up what the law was in SC. Lyme seems a bit complex to be treated that way but it could be legal.

You are new in SC, but if you can find a good dr you can try educating him/her about the 2 standards of care (ILADS vs IDSA) and take him/her copies of the ILADS guidelines and the Burrascano guidelines, available on the ILADS website, www.ilads.org IGeneX Lab's clinical consultant is willing to talk with doctors (their # is 800-832-3200). And CALDA is offering grants to attend the conferences in Boston in October.

I have a 2 standards of care document - if you email me at [email protected] I will send it to you.
