I went to the final showing of Under Our Skin last night. Did anyone see it?
Well, at the end of the documentary, there was a panel discussion and a few people including the director were there. There was also a female rheumatologist from DC. She had short dark hair and somewhat of an accent. Does anyone know who she is?
I am desperately seeking her name as my Rheum took one look at my positive labs and told me "it's doesn't mean anything" and gave me Allen Steere's name...hah.

Rheumatology Department Clinical Program: The Section of Rheumatology is a subspecialty of internal medicine with full time Board Certified faculty physicians. The section physicians provide inpatient and outpatient care in the diagnosis and treatment of arthritis multi-system connective tissue diseases and as well as gout, fibromyalgia, osteoporosis and other common musculoskeletal disorders. Rheumatology at the Washington Hospital Center is an academic program with postgraduate medical training for medical residents and rheumatology fellows.
Outpatients are seen in the Subspecialty Faculty Practice in the Ambulatory Care Center on the main floor. There are daily clinics and faculty practice sessions, including a Lupus Clinic. There is also an Ambulatory Infusion Center for patients receiving biological therapies for rheumatoid arthritis and other rheumatic diseases. Inpatient consults and admissions are followed by the fellows and faculty. There is both a Rheumatology fellow and faculty on call 24 hours every day for emergency phone calls, consultations or admissions to hospital.
The Section of Rheumatology has a special interest in serious and complicated rheumatic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus (Lupus, SLE) and other connective tissue diseases, and vasculitic disorders. In addition the Section Director has a national reputation in the study and treatment of patients with chronic Lyme disease.
Clinical Research: There is an active clinical research program with a research study coordinator. All the Rheumatology faculty and fellows participate in clinical research activities. There are current studies in potentially exciting new treatments for rheumatoid arthritis and lupus as well as clinical/laboratory studies on lupus and Lyme disease. Studies are also being planned for fibromyalgia and osteoporosis.
