Hello- I currently have a LLMD in WI and have been on abx for 3 months. I am seeing a little improvement. I have an appointment with Dr. C and was debating keeping it or staying the course with my current doctor. I went undiagnosed for about 1 year. Dr. C is more expensive and a longer drive, but I want to rid this thing of me and I think I am not too far along that this is still possible, and if he can do that, price is no object. The problem I have with my current doc is that I don't feel he looks at the whole health picture.
I wanted to go to him for a few reasons: he treats for all co-infections, and I heard he tries to get you to work with you local doctor for monitoring and blood work? That he has guidelines for your local doctor to follow? Can anyone confirm that is true?
I am not incredibly sick, I am 27 and was healthy before I was bitten. I can still go to work, cook for myself and exercise twice a week, but not much else. I know Dr. C is great for very chronic cases, but I am wondering if anyone has any helpful words for my situation.

Yes, he wants you to have a local dr to work with... but CAN YOU FIND ONE??
I think he's awesome. He got me well. Granted, 3 months is not enough time to figure out if you're being undertreated or just beginning.
What meds are you on?? Maybe you could PM me?

dr c is awesome I have been going to him since last december and have improved tremendously since then, hes worth every penny im my opinion~pj

Lymetoo how does Dr. C have your local doctor work with him? My doctor always runs the blood tests he wants done every three months but other then that Dr. C has never mentioned working with my local doctor.

I would say it's not necessary unless you're on IV.
I haven't needed a local dr to work with him, but I do have a local dr who has chronic Lyme himself!

I have my pcp and local endo fax every blood test they do to dr-c and both have been very good about it as neither of them knows anything about lyme or dont want to know.
So I get all my testing done in my insurance network by the locals and he gets all the test results which in turn keeps expenses down.

ditto. Have the usual blood tests, etc. by your local doc and fax them to Dr.C. I live in northern Illinois and travel to see Dr. C a few times a year. I'm back to work, but still have some rough times.
