My daughter is eight and we've just received ELISA results that are positive. In June, 2008, she showed a bullseye rash with a fever and knee pain and began Amoxicillan treatment. As it looked to be resolved with one round of this, we stopped worry and research and any further treatment, per the pediatrician. Last week, we had to see the pediatrician due to nightly knee pain that made her cry, and the Dr. put us on the same dosage of Amoxicillan (1200mg/day) as the first round in June and took a blood test to confirm. Today we received confirmation of the diagnosis with the ELISA results. Now researching this now as a Later Stage Lyme case is giving me a heart attack, (and I thank God for your website), and would like to request a referral. We live in Pennsylvania, and with her joint pain persistent, would like to take her to a Pediatric LLMD Specialist in New York City, as it's not too far from us. Again, I thank you for your work- helping nervous worried mothers seeking information and answers in the middle of the night. Thank you again for your work and for this referral.

I think I'd to add on to my original post that a referral to a Pediatric LLMD anywhere in the surrounding area of PA, NY, CT, NJ MD, anywhere, really, would be very appreciated. We are willing to travel any distance to feel confident in our child's treatment. It is clear to me that I failed to research beyond what my pediatrician indicated during the early stage, and I feel responsible for not seeking sites like this during that early treatment phase. I would call our care at this point minimal, and would very thankful for any infectious disease specialist you could recommend for what feels late in the game now for my little girl. THanks again for your help, Gratefully, Elizabeth
