I've been seeing Dr. S for a little over a year after being lead through the Lymelands with many unhelpful doctors. It's really depressing how it came on and I saw my PCP again and again for the same ailments when it could have been caught in time. Instead he watched me slowly go downhill and never tested for Lyme or thought of it. Then the people he sent me to...ye gods!
But then I found Dr S, who diagnosed me with Lyme and I think my family and I may have laughed in front of him because the idea of the anti-nature and anti-outside young woman having Lyme was, honestly, laughable with the skewed knowledge we had of it.
I was wondering if anyone else sees Dr. S in Reston? It's been a year and I'm still ill but I really think he knows his stuff and seems to have a good idea of Lyme, POTS and CFS. How has your progress been and so on?
He peppers his discussions with Jewish phrases, you can email him and his receptionist's daughter has made anti-Lyme artwork that she has hung up. He was also the third speaker a few months ago at an event with the author from Cure Unknown and the director of Under Our Skin.

Be aware that treatment of Lyme is not a quick fix. If you've been sick for a long time, it could take a few years of treatment.
Be sure that he's checking for, and treating any co-infections first!
I'm not familiar with this doc but you could try calling Support Groups in VA. They may have some feedback on him. There's a link on the upper left side of the page.
Would you mind sending me a private message with this docs name and contact information? Click on the envelope with 2 people above my post.
