Hi,

I was wondering if anyone does/has used(or just knows for sure) Dr. M. in Mobile, Alabama and if so, does he use PICC lines/I.V. therapy ever or just mainly oral abx?

Or maybe any other LLMDs in AL or relatively nearby Dothan/Montgomery, AL--Panama City, FL area(I already know about Dr. D in Birmingham, but his waiting list is FULL, and Dr. L in Destin, FL)

And also does anyone know if Medicare and AL Medicaid will pay for PICC line insertion and upkeep, and for the I.V. Rocephin(which is what I'm guessing would be used), etc.

My current llmd in FL said he would refer a PICC line(My CD57 has dropped to 15! from 65 to start/have had lyme and babesiosis for 7 years/ dx'd and treated approx. 6 months so far), if I could find someone to insert it.

But I have no idea as docs and the hospital here in rural S.E. AL won't even give me my Bicillin-LA shots for lyme because it's not IDSA/CDC +, but is by Igenex Western Blot and ILADS criteria.

So I'm pretty sure a PICC line is a no go here, and isn't that the llmd's job to know where and who to refer you to anyway?

Thanks for any info in advance! And I hope to contribute more when/if I can get to feeling better...

To everyone's health,

Jim

I doubt that he does.

AS for your other questions, you might get more replies over in Medical.

There's a great dr in SC if you can travel.
