How do I know which type of LLMD to find since there are LLMDs that are rheumotologists, infectious disease, etc. etc. -

Which area do I go to???

Also, how are patients who are pretty much broke able to come up with the cash in order to get well?

Good questions!

There are very few LLMD's who are also rheumatologists and even fewer who are infectious disease drs.

All you need is a GOOD doctor! Doesn't matter which specialty they were trained in. (my LLMD was a family practice dr)

Broke patients are at a distinct disadvantage. Some LLMD's take Medicare..but very few.

Do you need some names?

Hi tipoe,

You have been given good advice above but no doubt it's confusing. If the doctor is an LLMD that belongs to ILADS it really does not matter what his specialty is. He just has to be a good LLMD.

Here is a link that might help you with financial issues: http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/3/22281?

Medicare is insurance for people over 65, right? No, I don't have medicare. I have NJ FamilyCare.

Well, those on disability also have Medicare.

The NJ Family Care might be accepted by some doctors. I don't know much about it.
