He says he has successfully cured children with lyme with natural remedies. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. I am waiting to see an LLMD but the appt is several months away.

However I am nervous about going to a non MD treatments for my child.

I am a huge fan of naturopathic medicines but this raises a red flag for me. Supplements are very helpful as a support and some supplements can directly affect certain infection. I would really love to know what he is suggesting. I'm not at all a health care professional but have studied the various alternative protocols for years.

Could you please PM me what he is suggesting that will directly treat lyme or other infections? As you, I would want to be certain regarding his methods and his education in this area.

Some very well meaning naturopathic doctors are terrible with lyme because they underestimate it or think too highly of some of their methods. Many LL NDs incorporate antibiotics along with supplements.

Until someone comes along with more details, you might contact ALL the support groups in your surrounding area to you and ask of others who may have been treated by this doctor.

This is a set of both pharmaceutical and complementary approaches I've complied for similar questions. You can compare and contrast.

These are the most well research lyme authors I've come across. There are only two here who are not actually members of ILADS but both are very much ILADS-educated in that they have done the research and taken into account all that is required at every step along the way. They truly understand the nature of the spirochete and other tick-borne infections. Not all doctors, whether MDs or NDs, can say that.

As for whether the complementary protocols are appropriate for children, you can contact the author(s). And - many LLMDs incorporate methods from both Zhang and Buhner. Both are highly regarded.
