We are considering trying him, but literally all I know about him is his name and number.

Can anyone tell me anything at all helpful about him? Does anyone here see him?

siciliano,
I was just going to post the very same question about Dr. W in Denton. I would appreciate if you have time to share your thoughts with me too!

I'm also going to see my Rheumy & NP before I see him to see if they're willing to work with him, if he's willing to let me do some of it locally.

Thank you, Gina

Well! I just called Dr W's office and the lady who answered the call was very nice and visited with me until I was done! This is what I found out:
First office visit $395 - no insurance taken
Lab down street does take insurance *2nd lab not necessary if 1st lab is positive*
Secondary lab in CA $200-$600 depending on labs ordered

yeast free diet
lots of supplements & herbs

likes you to follow-up with local LLMD

I did go ahead and make an appt for August - going to see my 2 locals Docs first to see what they know of Lyme & if they'd work with him.

--My question for folks here -
Will it help even if I don't change my diet like he wants me to? I will certainly try as I start to feel better, but right now I am a MAJOR sugar addict and some days that is my ONLY comfort! Lame, but true. [bonk]

Thanks again!
Gina

Gina... get off sugar as soon as possible. Some of your symptoms can be coming from the candida/yeast you likely have.

Lyme suppresses the immune system and that alone allows the yeast to grow. Add to that long term antibiotics and you will be in "trouble."

So.. get on the wagon now! Also buy some high quality probiotics.

Suggested ones are found here:

PS... HAVING yeast makes you crave sweets... it's a vicious cycle!
