Hello. I am a new user to the site and must say that I am comforted and pleased by what I see so far. My wife has been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis for the last 5 or 6 years but none of the treatments seem to be making much of a difference. After much research, she feels that she has many of the symptoms associated with Lyme disease. She has discussed this with a couple of local Rheumatologists only to be ignored and blown off. We live in southern Indiana about halfway between Louisville and Indianapolis but would be willing to travel to seek the services of a physician that is competent in the diagnosis and treatment of Lyme disease patients. The basic attitude of the physicians that we have discussed the issue with has been "well we have never seen or diagnosed it before so I doubt you are the first." My wife is only 31 but has been steadily getting worse over the last 5 or 6 years. She is in constant pain and can be out of commission for days at a time (which is rough when you have three young children). As I mentioned before, none of the medications provided by her current Rheumatologist seem to do much good and are probably doing more harm to her overall health. Any help would be extremely appreciated. Thank you.

OH my. The main thing to do is get her tested with a reliable lab like Igenex. www.igenex.com She needs test #188 and 189 to begin with.
I'll send you a PM.

I am in the same region, and I drive to Pennsylvania. There is also one in Missouri.
Someone posted recently that there might be a couple in KY/TN, though I don't think they have lengthy experience.
There used to be one in Louisville--I found references to people driving there from other states--but I contacted him almost a year ago, and he said he doesn't deal with Lyme any more.
