Hey all. I'm looking for an excellent, experienced LLMD to treat agressively my chronic lyme disease. I've never treated it but have had symptoms for years, perhaps since birth (now worsening).. Major neurologic involvement (encephalopathy) and immune dysfunction for about 2 years. I'm positive on IgeneX Western Blot, and based on Dr Burrascano's differential diagnostics I think I may have babesia and bartonella coinfections. I have somewhat-diagnosed pituitary insuffiency, low-level dysautonomia, self-diagnosed neurally mediated hypotension and most likely plenty of Borrelia neurotoxins. For professional reasons, I'm extremely hoping to be getting better by Christmas; this is why I'm willing to travel to have a physician who will put me on a strong combination of parental meds and who will work with me to cycle them or do whatever is appropriate. I can pubmed and do a lot of work on my own, but I need some treating experience and prescriptive power! I live in Los Angeles, but as I said if it makes a difference I have no problem driving a couple hundreds miles or flying.

Thanks in advance for all suggestions

Hi, Terminator.
Sorry to hear of your Lyme neuroborreliosis & synergistic co-infections. But welcome to the supportive LymeNet community!

Have you made an appt with a LLMD or LLDO yet?

If not, try creating a new post in this "Seeking a Doc" forum listing a few states to which you'll travel for LD treatment. Members respond best to posts with one or just a few states in the subject line.

In the meantime, you could submit another blood sample to IGenX for testing for both Babesia spp.

The best lab for Bartonella testing is Galaxy in NC. I read that Bartonelliosis is now more common than Borrelia in L.A.

LLMDs appreciate the results from those labs.

Note that many Lyme patients have achieved long-term remission with oral abx, no IV.

It often takes 2 to 3 months to get an open appt with the best LLMDs in the U.S. Once in treatment, many of these patients experience improvement in 3 to 4 months.

Again, you may wish to create a new post here with the states you're interested in.
Smile
